A Sound Heart vs. A Deformed Conscience: The Chaperone and American Heart

New York Times bestselling author Laura Moriarty will discuss the moral dilemmas facing the heroines in her two most recent books, The Chaperone and American Heart. In both books, the characters question the moral norms of their respective time periods, ultimately deciding for themselves what is right. A feature film based on The Chaperone, starring Elizabeth McGovern, will be released by Masterpiece Theater in early 2019.
