In this creative retelling of the classic story by Robert Louis Stevenson, a young boy named Jim Hawkins is suddenly swept away on a fantasy adventure when Billy Bones leaves him a treasure map. It is up to Jim to help a bunch of rowdy sailors, including Long John Silver and a talking parrot, to find the treasure. With the help of some storytellers, the crew meets up with a lost pirate and his hilarious island natives, but it is up to Jim to trick the pirates and get his loyal crew home safely- before anyone becomes a victim of The Dreaded Black Spot! You'll be cheering for Jim Hawkins and his pirate friends throughout this imaginative and fun high-seas story. There are equitable speaking roles for all cast members and fun roles for boys and girls alike. Camp participants put together a full ensemble production to be performed in the Black Box Theatre at the Arvada Center.
